Internet marketing – Organizations find a new means to reach their customers!

Internet marketing is the new buzz these days which unleashes gamut of opportunities for businesses to explore. But what is internet marketing – is it a magic wand making things happen just at a single swoosh or is it a whimsical tool or is it the unexplored marketing tool waiting to be explored – well, it is a blend of everything mentioned and much more than that!

Internet marketing has many alternative names –   digital marketing, web marketing, online marketing, search marketing or e-marketing is a tool which is being used to promote products or services over internet. But why internet, why are companies running after online promotion- was the offline marketing strategies did not suffice their purpose of reaching their target audience and marketing their offerings to them – the answer is simple --- the mass reach of internet and lesser reaction time. Marketers have realized that this is where the money lies and using it judiciously is bound to reap fruitful benefits to the marketer and as well the end user.

It is a marvel to observe how the tangible and intangible could be marketed and sold with great deal of efficiency in this virtual domain which has made the world a much smaller space for people to interact, explore and broaden their horizons.

Internet marketing is the umbrella which comprises under itself various tools of reaching out to target audience; Internet marketing unlike other media offers variety of options both paid and unpaid to the marketer to promote one’s product or service, the same can happen by means of promoting one’s own website, social media marketing (marketing and promoting the goods and services by means of social media websites), blogs, e-mailers, online discussion forums, banner ads, pop ups on other websites  etc.

What makes the web so lucrative for organizations to opt it as another media in addition to the existing- print, electronic media- variety of the reasons – this is where the target audience spends maximum amount of time be it in office or be it in their homes and not to miss the availability of smart phones which has made the connectivity to the web 24/7 for the end users!

The other important aspect is the availability of variety of options to market the offering in a much creative manner, and at a customized cost for everyone. Another important aspect which makes the work of marketers easier and insightful is the direct interaction with the target audience and lesser reaction time. It becomes easy for the marketer to know the perceptions of the target audience, their feedback etc which actually reduces a huge chunk of expenditure done on conducting offline marketing.

Thus it can be said that internet has become such a vital part of very human being that thinking of ruling out its presence in marketing perspective would be a foolish thing to do!
